Capoeira is a Brazilian art form which combines fight, dance, rhythm and movement. Capoeira is a dialog between players - a conversation through movement which can take on many shades of meaning. The details of capoeira's origins and early history are still a matter of debate among historians, but it is clear that african slaves played a crucial role in the development of the artform.
Capoeira Las Vegas is a branch of CTE Capoeiragem, under the leadership of Contra-Mestre Dilaho. Contra-Mestre Dilaho is from Bahia, Brazil, and has been teaching capoeira for the past 16 years. In Bahia, he is affiliated with CTE Capoeiragem, which seeks to preserve the art of capoeira, and to spread Afro-Brazilian art and culture in Brazil and throughout the world. Capoeira Las Vegas trains four times a week at the Las Vegas Sportspark. For more information, please see our contact page.
