I'm out of shape. Can I still start Capoeira?+
Absolutely. Capoeira meets you where you are. You control the intensity - every movement scales, from a low, slow ginga to full-tempo kicks and inversions. Most of our adult beginners haven't done a martial art in years, if ever.
How old is 'too old' for Capoeira?+
There isn't a ceiling. We've trained adults in their 40s, 50s, and 60s. Because Capoeira is a game more than a fight, longevity is built in - you can play at any age.
How is this different from a gym workout?+
You'll get the fitness - cardio, mobility, strength - plus a skill you can be proud of, live music, and a community that shows up week after week. Try that at your treadmill.
Will I have to fight anyone?+
No. Capoeira is played inside a circle called the roda. It's a physical conversation, not a fight. You'll learn to read the other player and respond - most techniques stop short of contact.
How often should I train?+
Two classes a week is plenty to feel real progress. Three or more and you'll be flying inside a couple of months.
